IONS newly designed website hosts online discussions, and they post a Big Question each month.

Go to: www.noetic.org
Click: Discussions
Click: Big Questions

Their January Big Question was:
Can we think our way out of extinction?

Let's participate in this international forum. We are going to experiment to see if we could think together in a more noetic way. Instead of just debating from individual ego perspectives, we will set "the field" with an intention and attempt to tap into our collective wisdom. We will come from our hearts more than from our heads; perhaps something nobody imagined may emerge.

Please go to the IONS website and read the postings from other IONS members before our gathering. You could post your thoughts there, and we will post our results after the meeting.

What is the new paradigm of leadership? Please bring your insights, thoughts and experiences.

December Gathering--2010
Topic: Holiday Potluck and Bohmian Dialogue
Date: Monday, December 20th
Place: Greenwood Library  8016 Greenwood Ave. N., Seattle
       Metro Bus Rt: 5, 48, 35
Time: 5:30-8:00pm
Admission: Free, but please bring light snack

This month, we are going to celebrate the Holiday season with food and conversation. Then, we'll have a Bohmian Dialogue.

"Dialogue is a way of observing, collectively, how hidden values and intentions can control our behavior, and how unnoticed cultural differences can clash without our realizing what is occurring. It can therefore be seen as an arena in which collective learning takes place and out of which a sense of increased harmony, fellowship and creativity can arise." (Bohm, Factor and Garrett)

We will begin with no agenda; suspend our judgments. Through this freely-flowing process, we'll examine our assumptions and our preconceptions, and allow something totally new, something none of us had imagined before the Dialogue to emerge.

This paper by David Bohm, Donald Factor and Peter Garrett will help you understand what Bohmian Dialogue is:

Please bring light snack, your own plate, silverware, and mug. We'll provide hot water and tea.

Stanislav Grof developed Holotropic Breathwork, which is described as:

"An approach to self-exploration and healing that integrates insights from modern consciousness research, anthropology, various depth psychologies, transpersonal psychology, Eastern spiritual practices, and mystical traditions of the world." (Wikipedia)

His ideas are presented in the description of IONS audio Essential Shift Series (2006):

"We can clear unresolved traumas, patterns, and fears and begin to live as more peaceful planetary citizens. A multi-leveled understanding of psychology that goes deeper than post-natal biography is key. By opening the door to the further reaches of consciousness and creating rites of passage that take us through a meaningful encounter with death, our view expands, our consciousness connects with others, and we shift beyond Newtonian/Cartesian understandings into a more sacred view of the universe."

We will discuss Dr. Grof's contribution and explore the implication of experiencing nonordinary states of consciousness. Bring your thoughts and share your experiences.

October Gathering--2010

Date: Monday, October 25th
Place: Greenwood Library  8016 Greenwood Ave. N., Seattle
       Metro Bus Rt: 5, 48, 35
Time: 6:00-7:45pm  (Join us for social time at 5:30pm)

The IONS new website features a "Big Question" each month. The Big Question for September was "Have you had a noetic experience?" and it's described as:

"Have you ever had an experience that you couldn’t explain? The phone rings and you know who it is before you answer. You think of someone you haven’t thought of for years and then get a letter or an email from them. How about a moment of clarity that forever changed the way you viewed things? An 'event' that you knew was real, to the very core of your being, but could not prove? These are examples of the ‘inner knowing’ that can be defined as a ‘noetic experience.’"

If you go to the page
http://noetic.org/discussions/big-questions/18/
you'll find articles, videos, and audio recordings on this topic. 87 (as of today) comments from IONS members all over the world have been posted there as well.

Also, the most recent IONS teleseminar was "Science of Noetice Experience" with Dean Radin and Daryl Bem. You could download the recording at:
http://noetic.org/library/audio-teleseminars/science-of-noetic-experience-with-daryl-bem/

Please bring your own noetic experience and share it with us. Let's explore what these experiences mean and what they say about who we are.

Please bring some snacks to share. BYO Mug. We'll provide hot water and tea.

September Gathering--2010
Topic: Exploring Masculine and Feminine
Date: Tuesday, September 28th
Place: Greenwood Library  8016 Greenwood Ave. N., Seattle
       Metro Bus Rt: 5, 48, 35
Time: 6:00-7:45pm  (Join us for social time at 5:30pm)
Admission: Free

In her book, Waking the Global Heart, Anodea Judith writes:

"The archetypal Sacred Marriage or hierosgamos is an integration of masculine and feminine, God and Goddess, and in many ways of all polarities within the self. This is not predicated on gender. Both men and women have internal opposites to integrate... Just as this integration occurs within the self as a part of maturation, it needs also to occur within our organizations, families, communities, governments, educational and financial institutions in order to stimulate our social maturation."

She also writes, "The balance between masculine and feminine is one of the most basic and necessary social healings we can make at this time."

If we think of masculine and feminine as energy or a mode each of us taps into, how does this polarity play a role in our personal and collective transformation? Please bring your thoughts, experiences, stories and books, and let's noetically explore this complex topic together.

Please bring some snacks to share. BYO Mug. We'll provide hot water and tea.
